1. Data protection at a glance
General information
The following information gives a simple explanation of what happens with your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data refers to data that can be used to identify you. You can find detailed information on data protection in our privacy notice below.

Data collection on our website

Who is responsible for the collection of data on this website?
Processing of data in connection with this website is carried out by the website operator. The operator’s contact details are provided in the site credits.

How do we record your data?
Data are collected when you provide them. This includes data submitted on a contact form, or if you contact us by email.

Other data are recorded automatically by our IT systems when you visit our website. These are mainly technical data (e.g. details of your browser and operating system, and the time you visit the site). These data are automatically collected as soon as you reach our website.

What do we use your data for?
Some of the data are collected in order to ensure that we can provide the website without any errors. Other data are used to analyse user behaviour.

What are your rights in connection with your data?
You have the right to access, free of charge and at any time, the sources and recipients of your stored personal data and the purpose of processing those data. You also have the right to restrict processing of your data, as well as the right to rectification or deletion of your data. If you have any questions on this matter or other points related to data processing, you can contact us using the details in the site credits. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Analytical tools and tools from third-party providers
When you visit our website, your surfing behaviour can be statistically evaluated. This is mainly done using cookies and analytics programs. Analysis of your surfing behaviour is usually anonymised, which means that the behaviour cannot be traced back to you. You can object to such analysis, or restrict it by preventing or avoiding the use of certain tools. Further information on this subject can be found below. As far as objecting to such analysis is concerned, we explain the options available to you in this privacy notice.

Our website uses WP Statistics, an analytics plug-in developed by US software company Veronalabs (5460 W Main St, Verona, NY 13478, USA). This plug-in provides us with basic statistics about how you use our website. The plug-in is an analytics program specially developed for websites that use the WordPress content management system. The data collected by WP Statistics include the amount of time you spend on our website, which pages you visit, how many people are on the site at a given time, and the site that you reached our website from. WP Statistics does not set any cookies and it is not possible to identify you on the basis of the data collected. These are the most important details on data processing using WP Statistics . Because the plug-in does not use cookies, and data collected for statistical analysis are saved locally on the webserver, this means that your data are handled very carefully. If you would like to find out more about WP Statistics , you can access the company’s data protection notice at https://wp-statistics.com/privacy-and-policy/.

3. Data collection on our website

Cookies
Some parts of this website use cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies help to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. They are small text files that are saved on your device with the help of the browser.

Most of the cookies we use are called session cookies, which are automatically deleted as soon as you leave the website. Other cookies remain on your device until you delete them. In this way we can recognise your browser when you make return visits.

You can configure your browser so that you are notified when cookies are saved. This means you can allow individual cookies, reject cookies in certain cases or block all cookies, and you can activate a setting that automatically deletes cookies when you close your browser. If you deactivate cookies, some functions of this website may not be available.

Cookies that are necessary for electronic communication processes or providing certain functions that you would like to use (e.g. shopping cart function) are saved in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the purpose of the optimised and error-free technical provision of its services. In cases where other cookies are saved (e.g. for the purpose of analysing your surfing behaviour), this is explained separately in this privacy notice.

Server log files
The website operator automatically collects and saves information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us, namely:

Browser type and version
Operating system used
Referrer URL
Host name of the accessing computer
Time of server query
IP address*

*Your IP address is collected but is immediately anonymised. This means that only a rough estimate of the IP geolocation is possible and the IP address cannot be associated with a specific individual.

These data are not combined with other data sources.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, which permits data processing for the performance of a contract or in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

4. Newsletter

Newsletter data
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter via the website, we require your email address, as well as information that enables us to check whether you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Any other data are only collected on a voluntary basis. We use these data exclusively to send the requested information and we do not transmit them to third parties.

The data you submit on the newsletter subscription form will only be processed on the basis of your consent (in accordance with Article 6[1][a] GDPR). You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your data and your email address, and their use for the purpose of sending the newsletter at any time by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

We will store the data you provided to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter until you unsubscribe, at which time your data will be deleted. This does not affect data that we store for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the members area of the website).

MailChimp
This website uses the services of MailChimp in order to send newsletters. The provider of these services is Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service that enables, among other things, organisation and analysis of newsletter mailings. When you submit data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter (e.g. your email address), these data are stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA.

MailChimp is certified under the US-EU Privacy Shield, which is an agreement between the EU and the US designed to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the United States.

We are able to analyse our newsletter campaigns with MailChimp’s help. If you open an email sent by MailChimp, a file contained in the email (called a web beacon) connects to MailChimp’s servers in the USA. This enables us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on, if any. Technical information is also collected (e.g. the time that the email is viewed, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be associated with a specific newsletter recipient and it is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of this analysis can be used in order to adapt future newsletters more effectively to the recipients’ interests.

If you do not want your data to be analysed by MailChimp, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide an unsubscribe link for this purpose in every newsletter email. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter on our website.

The data are processed on the basis of your consent (in accordance with Article 6[1][a] GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

We will store the data you provided to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter until you unsubscribe, at which time your data will be deleted both from our servers and those of MailChimp. This does not affect data that we store for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the members area of the website).

For more information on MailChimp’s data protection policy, visit https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms.

Conclusion of a data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp which obliges MailChimp to protect our customers’ data and not to transmit them to third parties. A copy of the agreement is available at https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement.

5. Plug-ins and tools

Google web fonts
This website uses web fonts provided by Google in order to ensure the uniform display of fonts. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts from your cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

To do this, your browser must connect to Google’s servers. In this way, Google is notified that you have visited our website using your IP address. Google web fonts are used in order to ensure the uniform and attractive presentation of our online services. This represents a legitimate interest in the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If your browser does not use web fonts, a standard font on your device will be used instead. Further information on Google web fonts is available at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Google Maps
This website uses the Google Maps service via an API. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

In order to use Google Maps functions, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. The provider of this website has no influence over this data transfer.

Google Maps is used in order to ensure the attractive presentation of our online services and to enable visitors to find locations mentioned on the website more easily. This represents a legitimate interest in the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
